This one is for my daughter, when she finally gets her first full-time job (hopefully very soon).  The flowers and leaves were done using the A Year of Flowers stamp set (Gina K.), the sentiment is from the Lovely Labels 2 set (Gina K.) and the fence was made with the Woodgrain Fence Die-namic (MFT).  I used Pizzazz Pink embossing powder (Sparkle n’ Sprinkle) to do the flowers on black paper. While I was making it, my daughter was talking to me and asked who the pretty card was for. I told her it was for someone special and she said she hoped it was for her. I am entering this in this weeks MFP SpeedyTV Friends of Speedy TV challenge for a new job.

This one was made using black sparkle paper with pink elements on a light pink base.  Fun to do, and quite easy.

This one is being entered in the MFP SpeedyTV Sketch With a Twist challenge this week, as well as ScrapZee’s CAS challenge. It was made using 1/8 inch “Tearrific Tape” (tear-able double sided tape from Sparkle N’ Sprinkle), some pink glitter, some paper scraps and a beautiful sentiment (Heartfelt Creations).  Quick and easy (I did it today after the food and before my in-laws) but pretty cute.

Whew!  Now, I need to get a lot of work done on other things before Tuesday.  Is it possible?

I won’t tell you which one goes to who as one of the wonderful women might see, but there is one for my mother, my grandmother and my mother-in-law.  The purple one has tissue paper on the square, which was interesting to work with.  The teal/turquoise one is monochromatic (MFP Speedy TV Simple Salutations Challenge), though it does have touches of white and green on the flowery paper piece and you can see a bit of the white base card around the edges.  The first is more of a scene card as I used several stamps out of one set to do it.  Love that stamp set, called The Giving Tree (Gina K.).  The flowers on the other two cards are from different flowered stamp sets by Gina K. and the teapot and cup die and stamps are from (MFT).

Here are a few of the name tags (without the names).

They were made using the Cottage Cutz Teacup with Saucer and Teabag die, some adhesive and magnets, along with assorted papers and card stock.  The red ones were for the red hat ladies that came.

This week I’ve been working on Thank Yous for the men that served at the Ladies’ Tea and wanted to share with you.

For this one, I used the Die-namics Always Time for Tea set by My Favorite Things.  It is called collage stamping, so I cut out the teapot, then used some removable adhesive and stamped all around using the different stamps in the set.  Then I removed the teapot, used the piece I cut it out of as a mask and inked around the edges.  Took that off and stamped the sentiment in the center.  This one is actually going to a couple that helped a LOT with the tea.  I’m not too thrilled with this technique, but you’ve got to try everything reasonable at least once to see if it works for you, or not.

This was my next one.  I decided to make it a shaped card to highlight the stamped image, which is from the Timeless Treasures set by Theresa Momber at Gina K. Designs.  I cut out all my layers and inked the bottom one a bit.  I stamped my pocket watch and used Perfect Pearls in heirloom gold.  I attached that piece to the brown outline piece, then ran them through with the Cuttlebug gears embossing folder to add a bit of fun.  I added the brads, then used Scotch mounting tape to give it some dimension.  This one has 3 layers, 3 brads and if you count the Perfect Pearls, 3 inks.

This was a fun one using some s.e.i. paper I purchased recently (in an assorted pack), the image is from the Cars set by Sparkle and Sprinkle, the “road” is made with an EK punch.  I added some green fuzzy thread with 3 die cut keys from the Die-namics Keys and Locks by MFT.

This last one was made by using Labels 18 (Spellbinders) to cut a space in my paper, as well as a smaller piece of vellum.  I embossed the “Much Obliged” which comes from the Western Sentiments set (MFT), then inking with Ranger Distress walnut.  I used a paper towel to rub off the ink that was on the sentiment.  The hats were made with S857 (Lasting Impressions) template, then cut around and I used colored pencils to highlight the hat band.  My son picked the hat colors, as well as the hat band colors. Before I attached the background paper, I drew the line for the hats with a gold glitter pen.  Attaching the background piece was the most difficult part of this card.   I used Therm-o-web vellum adhesive runner to attach the vellum piece.  (This is the best vellum adhesive I have found over the years as it does NOT show through.)  After that, I attached the hats and made sure they were all tipped, just a bit.  This is probably my favorite of the Thank Yous so far.  This one is being entered in the Friends of Speedy TV challenge over at MFP SpeedyTV this week.

Now, only a few more thank yous to make, then I have to finish writing in them.

Thanks for spending some time with me today.  Sorry I’ve been away for so long.  Hey, only a couple more batches of wedding candles, then I can start making some fun ones to keep and share.

This was the first one I did.  I had a basic idea of what I wanted to do, which it doesn’t look incredibly like, but I still like it.  This one had to use something that would have been trash, which was the fruit bag I used to highlight.  It also had to follow a tic-tac-toe board and I chose blue and red for the colors, embossing (dry and heat) and flower images (embossed).  I had planned to do 3 flowers along the side to go with the MFP SpeedyTV Sketch With a Twist challenge, but decided to do 3 pearls up in the corner of the small piece and leave it a bit more CAS.

This one was super fun.  It took some time, but I really like how it turned out.  It is for a friend of mine.  The thing about this one is that it is tall and skinny (3-3/8″ x 6-1/4″), which was interesting to do.

I wanted to use the rooster paper for a friend of mine, and used Perfect Pearls in 3 different colors on the rooster image, as well as a Sakura Stardust pen for the sun rays on the corner.  Not sure it’s quite what I want for my friend (a female), but my husband thought it would be perfect for a guy.

This last one was super quick and easy.  The challenge for MFP SpeedyTV’s Tutorial Time was to make a treat topper.  I changed mine up a bit and did it for dog treats, as I really wanted to use my dog stamp set.  I also used brads to hold it closed rather than twine.  It works as it is a zip lock bag.

Now, have I figured out quite how to do Joy’s harp cards?  Nope, but my embossing stuff is still out and I plan to use it.  I do have some fun ideas to try.

This next one is a bookmark card.  I’ve never actually used my perforation blade, so I finally got to use that.  This is for a couple that I want to encourage.

Take the time to use the gifts God has given you, no matter what they might be, and encourage someone else.  It not only makes them feel better, you feel better, too.

Much better.  In fact, I’m putting this one up for the MFP SpeedyTV Sketch With a Twist Challenge for this week.  When you’re adding, just do a little at a time until it seems right to you.  It is more difficult to take away, though not impossible.

My husband and I do this with cooking, too.  We try a recipe following the recipe, then discuss what we like and don’t like and what might make it better.  Then we try it again with our changes until we get it to where we really like it.

Basically it is a card (I used an A2 – 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) with a triangle taking up just less than half of it (doesn’t matter where), with something large in the center and something small in one corner.  Here are the examples I came up with:

As you can see, I did things differently on all of them.  I stamped on the open area on two of them, which doesn’t add to or detract from the sketch, and used the large animal and smaller sentiment.  You can’t see it too well, but the green triangles are embossed with leaves.  The giraffe and the tree (elephant card) are done with gold Perfect Pearls, so they sparkle.

The aqua and white one was done for the Friends of SpeedyTV challenge this week, so I’ll give you a close up of that one.  It is an inspiration challenge with an amazing picture, so I used the colors (as close as I could get) and crinkled my aqua to look like the curtains in the picture.

This valentine (another for my husband) is all black paper (Black Onyx by GinaK) with Love stickers (Recollection) on top.  I took a smaller piece of the black paper and embossed it.  This one is being entered in a sketch challenge for MFT this week. 

My Favorite Things is also having their monthly Guest Designer challenge, which is always a sketch that this one is being entered in.  The teapot and cups are cut out using the Die-namics Always Time for Tea set (MFT).  The cups that are embossed on the background piece are from the Signs of Autumn set (GinaK).  I used Broken China (Ranger Distress) ink for both the inking on the background piece and the teapot.  It’s amazing how different it looks used in different ways (I blended it on the background piece). 

This one is also for the MFT Guest Designer challenge this month.  I love both the Wood grain Fence Die-namic and the Sunflower Die-namics that were used on this one.  The butterfly is a metal charm (Making Memories).  Definitely had fun with this one.

This one is for the MFP SpeedyTV Simple Salutations challenge this week, which was to use a flower.  I got the flower box piece from a friend and the two sentiments are from the Winter Crocus 2011 set (MFP Heinrich Collection).  I stamped them with yellow ink, traced over with a fine Zig glue pen, let the glue dry and then used transfer foil on them.  Unfortunately, the “fine” Zig tip was a bit too much, so the words are a bit run together, though you can see it clearly enough in person. 

The layered dog card was made using the MFP Heinrich Collect Fabulous Dogs 2012 set, which I just love.  It is being entered in the MFP SpeedyTV Sketch With a Twist challenge for the week.

The butterfly one is being entered in the MFP Simple Salutations challenge for the week, as well as the MFP Speedy TV Friends of SpeedyTV challenge to use ribbon creatively.  I wove my ribbon through the top layers for the butterfly trail, as well as made a flower out of it.  This one is also being entered in the MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge for the week, though I took liberties with the sketch.

I am just loving the rain this weekend, but was happy to have time to play with paper, too.  Yes, I did go out and get in the rain.
