There is a challenge on ScrapZee to try the Burnt Lemon Technique, which consists of stamping with lemon juice, then heating that until it “burns”. It took a lot longer to get to that point than I had anticipated and my pieces were fairly small, so I wound up burning fingers, messing up the table finish in one spot, and actually burning the paper a bit in at least one spot, too. However, it did turn out pretty “antique” looking, which is cool. The sketch and theme are from the MFP SpeedyTV Sketch With A Twist challenge.
I used lemon juice, ivory and brown papers and the sentiment is stamped using Rich Cocoa ink (Memento). The pocket watch (top), old-fashioned alarm clock (bottom) and hourglass are from the Timeless Treasures set (Gina K), while the sentiment is from the Follow Your Dreams set (Gina K).

With all the excitement at your crafting table, it’s a wonder that your smoke alarm didn’t go off! Then end result looks great. VERY masculine… and with a smoky odor, too?

Well, it was the dining room table that got the scorch mark, but fortunately, no odor. At least that I could sense. Now I’m going to have to sand down and refinish the table again. It’s not a great table, so I’m probably the only one that will notice, at least for a while.

The card is gorgeous but I’m so sorry about your table! I’ve done this but put the paper in the oven to bake. It takes a while but it does give you an even heat and no risk to your furniture!
