Okay, this card was a lot of work, but I had a lot of fun figuring it out and putting it together. For this one, I used one of the new (to me) Art Impression Spinning Stamp Sets and matching Die.
To start, I cut a piece of 12×12 card stock (it was WAY too thin for this type of card) to 5-1/2″ by 12″. And, cut 2 4″ by 5-1/4″ pieces of patterned paper. I also used some spare pieces of white card to stamp the mouse pieces on.
Next, I scored my card at 4-1/4″ and 8-1/2″. The short piece is the inside of my front. I adhered the patterned paper to the front of the card (center area) and the shorter piece, inside of front. Make sure you only adhere where it will be ON the card stock, as part of it will hang over. Then, I folded that over and tried to cut my circle through all 4 layers. NOT easy, but finally accomplished it.
I had also colored my mouse pieces and cut those out with the dies. Then, I used some Score Tape to the top and bottom of the front piece, as well as above and below my opening. I then attached my twine to that and folded the inside of the front over. I did have to put more adhesive on the left edge to get it to hold down (remember, it doesn’t go all the way to the edge as my patterned paper is smaller.
After that, I put one mouse piece down below the twine and adhered more Score Tape to it over the twine. I then matched up the other side of the mouse and pressed it together. Then, I put some patterned paper inside and put on my balloons made out of paint chips, both inside and out. I put some of the balloons over the edge of the opening and matched up the ones inside. Be careful you don’t put anything that will interfere with the spinning of the image.
The last thing I did was the stamping, though it would have been easier had I done that before putting the twine in. Here’s the inside. I love the mouse that twirls around.
It was so much fun to use this new set I bought while out with my daughter a couple of weeks ago. This was her favorite of the spinner sets. Go check out the Art Impressions challenge using these to see more of their sets and all the fun cards.
Thanks for spending some time with me today!
So cute! You can tell that much time and effort went into this card. It’s sure to be loved!
