My uncle moved away from Arizona many years ago. So, thought I would give him a fun southwest birthday card to celebrate his birthday.
Used the Hero Arts April 2018 kit for this one. It’s rare that I purchase a kit, but this one was too fun to pass up. There are many more images and dies in it, too.
Now, for the pieces, I water colored in two different ways. The snake and flowers were done with Derwent Inktense pencils, and a water brush. I have to say, my water brush puts out too much water, so some of my color ran outside the lines. They are easy to use, however and fun, as well. For the mouse, I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I didn’t use additional water and I loved the precision I could get. The gold details on the mouse were done with a Sakura Stardust pen in gold.
Because I wanted to water color the images, I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp them.
My friend, Terrie, has this braid card style as the challenge for this week on WeCraftCards.com. My husband was beyond impressed with it and it wasn’t difficult. Terrie gives links to how to do it, as well as the template.
I am also entering this in the Hero Arts Challenge: Put A Flower on It. I actually have 3 flowers on it. One of them is cut in half, but had fun with doing that.
Just wanted to show you what I’ve been working on this week. Thanks for spending some of your precious time with me.
