This week on We Craft Cards, the Monday challenge was to make a paper project that represented your favorite childhood book. Ummm, I read and loved too many books to have a favorite. However, my brother’s absolute favorite was The Digging-est Dog. So, I made this:
Now, the Simon Says Stamp Blog Wednesday Card Challenge was to Distress. So, I went distress crazy. I used 3 or 4, maybe 5 different brown Distress Oxide Inks for the “dirt” section of the card. I actually used 3 different blue Distress Oxide Inks for the “sky”. As there was still a bit of “white” showing from the water color paper I was working on, I used some of the Ranger Distress Ink Spray, then inked on some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink after it had dried. Wiped with a dry paper towel and had a fun dirt look. I water colored my dog to make him look like he’d been digging, then water colored my presents. Had to add a bit of brown Distress ink on them so they would look like they had been or were being buried. I actually used a craft knife to cut little edges to tuck the presents into.
Had so much fun with this card. Fortunately, I actually found time to make it.
The We Craft Cards Wednesday Challenge was to make a Rock-n-Roll card. Had a lot of fun with this one, too. It was fairly simple to make and will fit perfectly into an A2 envelope, as it is 5-1/2″ wide and 4-1/4″ tall. Yep, I measured while making it.
Make a few minutes here and there to do something fun. It makes life so much more enjoyable. I’m hoping these bring a smile to the recipients.
Thanks for spending some time with me today!
