Sympathy 1

I need 3 sympathy cards for this weekend.  A funeral today, one tomorrow, and my husband needs one for a colleague.  So, used the MFT Sketch challenge for this week and went to town.

11-1-19 Sympathy 1

I used the same stamp set for all 4, but changed up the backgrounds.  Granted, I added a strip of the background on the side to give it a bit more interest.  To make these, I die cut holes in the top layer and layered either an alcohol ink paper, or patterned paper behind.  Used gold on all of them for the sentiment and sprayed a bit of gold on top.  I had used Versamark ink and the Marble Background stamp, but it didn’t show up at all on the ivory card, and wasn’t quite enough on the blue.

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today.  Now, I need to go get ready for today’s funeral.  I will post the other two cards done in the same manner in just a minute.

  1. So sad when we need so many of these at the same time. I have always heard that bad news comes in threes. I do like the cards you created. The colors are soothing.

  2. It is a shame that you need so many sympathy cards at once – but you did a lovely job of making them and whoever receives them will be comforted.

  3. Sorry for your losses. The trio of sympathy cards are beautiful. The swirl marble background stamp looks beautiful as are your color combinations.
