Bear Hugs

I have been wanting to make a bear hugs card to send to a friend. I didn’t actually get that done the way I had imagined, but did make a bear card for her.

Had some fun creating this one. I used vellum, as that is the WeCraftCards challenge this week. But, I mostly followed the MFT Sketch challenge, too. Granted, I put a vellum piece over the top of the sketch, but I used the Birthday Bears set, as well as the Adorable Elephants set to make this bear holding heart balloons.

I stamped and embossed the images, using masking, on the vellum, then used alcohol markers to color them. The colors are pretty close to the heart strips of the pink and blue. The purple matches the purple in the striped paper behind, which goes with the background panel. I dry embossed that back panel to make it a bit cuter. 3D embossing folders are so much fun to use. It’s a pillowy texture background. I used purple on the bear in a couple places so it all goes together.

Definitely had fun making this one. Thanks for sharing some of your valuable time with me! Have a wonderful week.
