I live in Phoenix AZ, so our State Fair is in the fall and our County Fair is in the spring. But, apparently, lots of places have summer fairs. The challenge this week on WeCraftCards.com is to make a card that represents a fair. When I was young, one of my favorite parts of the fair was showing animals and seeing all the animals. So that was what I wanted to show on my card. Then I saw the MFT Sketch Challenge for this week and thought it would be fun to show the ribbon colors in order as part of it. As the Simon Says Stamp Blog Wednesday challenge was to show a sentiment and they sell MFT products, thought it would be fun to share this there, too.

I’m not too fond of slimline cards as they waste paper, but a few of them here and there are fun.
Thank you for spending some of your valuable time with me today.
I like this Golda. It is cheery and nicely put together. Like you I’m not totally in the groove with slimline. To me it is another way for companies to make money from new products.

Love this! The colors are so cheery and bright. The sheep is perfect for the fair vibe. I enjoy slimline cards sometimes. They do take more paper, but are enjoyable to create at times.

It is a different “canvas” to work on, so makes you think differently about things. Thanks for checking this out.

What a fantastic capture of the flavor of showing at the fair. You forgot the grand prize of purple. For me, I am beginning to embrace the mini slimline because I can cut a 3 1/2x 6 1/4 mini and a small note card of 3 1/2×4 1/4 from one piece of base cs. If you make your own envelopes with punch board you need to cut 8 3/8 square and use the punch guide of 3 1/8 for the slimline card. Which is great because you can use copy paper. Note card envelope numbers are 7 paper cuts and 3 1/8 punch guide. Both of these envelopes fit the USPS guidelines for size.

Now that is extremely helpful! Thank you Bonnie! I remember the big purple ribbons with a blue ribbon in the center of it, but wasn’t sure if that was a local thing, or not, as it didn’t come up when I looked online.

Love your memories of your state fairs and your card portrays those memories perfectly. If I do slim line cards, I normally stick with the mini size. Great colorful card.

Thanks Gayle. The minis are a bit better, but I didn’t have any envelopes that size. 😉
