Sand vs Glitter

When you go to the beach, you wind up with sand almost everywhere.  When you craft with glitter, you wind up with glitter almost everywhere.

So, when creating a beach scene, I had to use glitter to create the background.  And yes, I have swept, mopped, dust mopped, and there is still glitter everywhere.  And that was after using Swiffer Dusters to wipe up throughout.  I’m not that much of a fan of glitter, but I do love how this turned out.

Yes, that is 4 different shades of glitter on 1 sticky background that was 9 1/8″ x 3 5/8″.  I took a bit of the trimmings and tried stamping directly onto the glitter with VersaFine Clair ink.  Amazingly, it worked well.  So, I used the Theresa Momber set, Tropical Skies to create my scene.

This is being entered in the Double D Beach challenge, as well as the ModSquad Slimline Scene challenge.

I was also working on some glitter pieces for something I’ll post next month.

Thank you for spending some of your valuable time with me today!  Have a wonderful rest of your weekend, or week.

Sunset at the Beach

I made a different type of card yesterday and today.  I used the MFT Sketch challenge as well as the WeCraftCards Bingo challenge  and last, but not least, the ModSquad silhouette challenge.  I had all sorts of ideas for the Bingo challenge, but my one eye has been giving me problems all week and I can’t see quite right, so couldn’t do much.  So, covered 2 rows and 1 column with 1 card, as well as it’s matching envelope.

Inside, you can see my hand made hammock.  I was sure I had a stamp, but couldn’t find it, so made my own.  It’s kind of fun.

Thanks for spending some time with me today.  Have a wonderful week!
