If you know me, you know I love texture. It really makes me happy. So, I’ve been playing with different ways to create it.
The two triangle pieces I added texture to with some wallpaper pieces a friend sent to me. Thank you Bonnie! I showed you the one in my last post, but it didn’t really show on the patterned paper. So, I tried it on plain card stock. It doesn’t show a lot here, either, unless you tip it in the light. You can see it a little.
So, I played with different ways to create texture. The background has Nuvo Embellishment Mousse spread through an MFT stencil. I love the stencil. Fortunately, there was enough moisture left in this mousse for it to actually spread. As I had sections I didn’t cover with the mousse, I did some acrylic sprays over the top. Had fun with that. The top circle has texture added by using a die and cutting a white piece, then gluing it on top of a sooth white piece of card. It adds texture and is fairly simple to do. Well, until you use an old spray adhesive that you only have a bit of that goes everywhere and just does NOT want to come off skin. YUCK! Tossed the tiny bit of it that was left and wound up having to add some shimmer spray after using an adhesive eraser for a long, long, long, long time to try and get rid of the extra that was between the sections and picking up dust out of the air. Oh well, live and learn. The middle circle was done with an embossing folder, then lighting brushed ink across to pick up the image. That one was easy and fun. The bottom circle, I added texture by heat embossing with clear embossing powder using a background stamp (MFT Marble) and then inking across it. The sentiment strip was heat embossed on a piece of white card that I had used more of the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse on. The pink was too hard to spread, so used a makeup sponge and just rubbed it on.
Lots of texture in that one, as well as lots of fun to make, even with a lot of mess. This one is going in this week’s MFT Sketch Challenge, too.
Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today!
