Beast Birthday Card

Well, I only had time to make 1 card today, but I do want to share it with you.  This one is pretty plain and simple, but I designed it for my cousin for his birthday.  I think he’ll like it.

The idea came to me as I was putting away the BB Adorable Elephants set, yesterday, as the BB Beast Friends set is stored next to it.  I actually thought I could get more Yeti going up the side, but only wound up being able to fit 2.  Using this for the MFT Sketch Challenge this week.  It’s adjusted slightly due to to placement of my images, but I had fun with this one.  Now, I took a couple of the sentiments and only inked up part of the sentiment and stamped it to make my own sentiment.  Inside it says, “Happy Birthday  The Best is YETI to come.”  I’m hoping my cousin gets as big a kick out of it as I had making it.  My husband and son got a kick out of it, as well.

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today.  Sorry the picture isn’t the greatest.  I really need to work on better lighting and set up.  Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.  If all goes well, I’ll see you again, soon.

Birthday Card Playing

This week on We Craft Cards, the Monday challenge was to make a paper project that represented your favorite childhood book.  Ummm, I read and loved too many books to have a favorite.  However, my brother’s absolute favorite was The Digging-est Dog.  So, I made this:

Now, the Simon Says Stamp Blog Wednesday Card Challenge was to Distress.  So, I went distress crazy.  I used 3 or 4, maybe 5 different brown Distress Oxide Inks for the “dirt” section of the card.  I actually used 3 different blue Distress Oxide Inks for the “sky”.  As there was still a bit of “white” showing from the water color paper I was working on, I used some of the Ranger Distress Ink Spray, then inked on some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink after it had dried.  Wiped with a dry paper towel and had a fun dirt look.  I water colored my dog to make him look like he’d been digging, then water colored my presents.  Had to add a bit of brown Distress ink on them so they would look like they had been or were being buried.  I actually used a craft knife to cut little edges to tuck the presents into.

Had so much fun with this card.  Fortunately, I actually found time to make it.

The We Craft Cards Wednesday Challenge was to make a Rock-n-Roll card.  Had a lot of fun with this one, too.  It was fairly simple to make and will fit perfectly into an A2 envelope, as it is 5-1/2″ wide and 4-1/4″ tall.  Yep, I measured while making it.

Make a few minutes here and there to do something fun.  It makes life so much more enjoyable.  I’m hoping these bring a smile to the recipients.

Thanks for spending some time with me today!

Circle Card

It was nice to get done with everything at work this morning and get to come home early, as it’s my birthday.

Saw an article on FB this morning about a little boy whose birthday is this week and would really like a lot of cards, so I got to make one for him.  As the MFP SpeedyTV FOSTV challenge that was posted this morning was to make a circle card, I did that.

Now, to get this written and in the mail for his birthday.

Oh, I also am in the process of making some candles, which is a great thrill to be able to do.  So, it’s a wonderful birthday!

Thanks for spending some time with me today!
