MFT Camp Create 2021

There were some fun challenges in this year’s Camp Create from MFT.

I decided to do another card for each.

2 Kinds of Shakin’ Goin On

This one is not only a shaker card (used tulle for my window), the shark is also on a wobble, so it shakes, too.

Water Color

The smaller panel and the image are water colored.

Emboss Resist

Did emboss resist with water coloring. Love how the background turned out and it was so easy to do.

Multi Media Background

How many ways are there to create backgrounds? Infinite. I used a couple MFT stencils with some spray acrylic, then added some tulle (leftover from my shaker).

Die Cuts

Used MFT hello word dies and some fun MFT paper, the pink and black are shiny, to create a card. Took some time, but was fun.

Now, back to real life with very little time to create, but I sure had fun this weekend! Thank you for spending some of your valuable time with me today!

Die Cut Card

So Day 5 of MFT Camp Create is to create a card with die cutting as the focus.

I had a great idea and was about 3/4 of the way through die cutting all of my pieces and realized I didn’t have dies to cut out either of the sets with cactus that I had planned to use. I generally fussy cut those. Bummer. So, wound up using a cactus die I have from Spellbinders that I only cut one of and then cut it into 2 pieces.

So I had some fun with an MFT Hexagon border die I have had for years. I trimmed off one side of it and that is what all of my “mountains” are. Had some fun using the Oh My Gostrich set. I did stamp the ostrich and the sentiment, but everything else was done with dies. My panel is a die cut, as well. Used some foam tape in places to give it lots of depth, which doesn’t show up so much in the picture. There is a bit of inking on the back panel to give me some open spaces to play with (sky and open space behind the ostrich).

This was a fun one to make, even if I couldn’t use all the cactus I had planned to use.

Backgrounds

So Day 4 of the MFT Camp Create challenge was to make your own background. There are so very many different ways to create backgrounds. A friend got the amazing embossing folder that inspired me to create this card.

The idea was to do different shapes of balloons, but my other choice of balloon shape was hearts and as this is for a gentleman, I decided just to go with regular balloons.

All of the paper and the dies used for this were MFT.

Emboss Resist

The MFT Camp Create day 3 challenge was emboss resist.

I had a great idea that turned out okay. I used some MFT patterned paper and clear embossing powder, so I would have patterned images.

Unfortunately, you can’t see where stray embossing powder is until inking. Most is covered up with pieces. Yes, I used my embossing tool to powder the entire surface, first.

What do you think? Would google eyes on the squirrels be too much, or add some fun? My son thinks too much. My husband and I just aren’t sure.

The stamp set, as well as the border die I made grass from are MFT products.

Splash Splash

Had fun making this card. The MFT Camp Create Day 2 challenge is to use water coloring. So. . .

Water Color

The panel is water colored, the inside of the window is water colored, the dogs were colored with water color markers. It was a lot of water coloring, but how it turned out makes me happy and I think my SIL will really like it, too.

I’m having lots of fun with these challenges and am actually getting some cards made. That is comforting and fun.

I used all MFT stamps and dies on this card, as well as yesterday’s.

Shakin’ It Up

Any sort of interactive element on a card makes it that much more fun. Shaker elements are easy, so for this card, I made the whole background a shaker.

To make the shaker, I took a piece of medium weight paper, added some color using a brayer. I then took some of the plastic packaging stamp sets and most everything else come in and cut it down to a bit bigger than my piece. I used an anti static tool on both pieces, then put score tape on the back of my colored piece. Wrapped it fairly tightly across, then did one of the small sides. I did trim a bit at the corners, so the wrap wouldn’t stick out. Added a bit of the corn starch from my tool in the pocket and then started adding sequins, seed beads, some chunky glitter, etc. sealed that last end on the back and had my panel. I used more score tape to make sure it was sealed tightly and some going across to put it on the base card.

Stamped and colored my images and sentiment strip and used liquid adhesive to attach to the front. A couple could have been attached to the colored panel before making it into a shaker, but I wanted all of mine on the outside.

This was made for the MFT Camp Create Day 1 challenge. My nephew will be getting it for his birthday. I did stamp “Happy Birthday” inside.

It didn’t take too long and was a lot of fun to make. I know my nephew will enjoy it.

Sketchy Ombre’

Was finally able to do the last challenge of My Favorite Things’ Camp Create Session 2.  This one was Awesome Ombre’.

Web

I also followed their Wednesday Sketch Challenge, which was a fun one, too.

8-16-19 MFT Sketch Ombre

I used ink to make the tag ombre’.  It is much darker at the bottom than in the middle though it doesn’t show too well.  Used dark to light shades of purple for the die cut sentiment, as well.  The “bling” over the hole in the tag is a dark purple, though it kind of looks blue in the picture.  It really matches the darkest purple quite well.

Used the MFT Hello Beautiful stamp set and the MFT Beautiful Die-Namics for the sentiment.

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today!  Have a great rest of your weekend.

Teal/Turquoise

So MFT Camp Create Day 4 was Monochromatic Magic.  So everything shades of the same color.  As Turquoise is my favorite, I went with light turquoise, turquoise, dark turquoise, and teal.  Definitely had fun with this one.

I used the MFT Marble Background stamp for this, covered the whole panel with Sheer Shimmer spray and cut out the sentiment with the Happy Christmas Die-namics.

I even took the time to use Nuvo Mousse to ink the edges of my white card base, so it went with the colors and sparkles, too.

Now, I am off to get ready to go to church and worship God with a bunch of other ladies this evening, so I won’t even get started on today’s challenge.  Thank you for spending some of your time with me.

Stamped Background

I promise, this is the last one for those same 2 challenges.  MFT Color Challenge and Background Bonanza.  This wasn’t even close to all the ideas that popped into my head, but I definitely wanted to try these 3.

Web

For this one, I used the same MFT Magical Mandala Background and Seasonal Sentiments stamp sets.  This time I used ink cubes to ink the stamp itself, then stamp it.

8-14-19 MFT Color Background 3

I did spray the background with Sheer Shimmer spray and added a few sequins in purple and pink.  The sentiment tag is popped up with foam tape and the edge of it sparkles, as well.  Had to make the card go with the sentiment.

Thanks for spending some more of your valuable time with me today!

Watercolor Background

I went with the MFT Color Challenge for this week again, as well as the Background Bonanza.  They are great colors and I came up with a lot of background ideas.

Web

So this time, I used white embossing powder (would have used clear on my white watercolor paper, but it had gotten a smear of ink from the alcohol ink background on it) and embossed the MFT Magical Mandala background stamp.  Then had some fun with a couple of watercolors (Peony and Violet) that went wonderfully with the color challenge colors.  The sentiment is from the MFT Seasonal Sentiments set and was embossed in white on gray card, then popped up.  I did cut out the mandala piece before embossing the sentiment.  There’s a bit of gray with silver ribbon on there to add a bit of fun and sparkle to this Christmas card.

This was fun.  Mess, but fun to make.
