Speed Card

This weekend I actually got some cards made.  I posted the one I made for the challenges.  On New Years Day I started my first set of Christmas cards for Christmas 2020.  It may seem early, but I normally start the December before.  I have found over many years, that if I do a set every month, I’m not totally sick of Christmas cards before they start arriving, and I should have enough to send out to family and friends.

Set 1:

1-4-20 Christmas 2020

Now, this morning, before I had to leave for work, I came up with a really quick and easy idea.  So, I made it.

1-6-20 Speedy Bday

The card base is the patterned paper, so I just used the MFT Brushstroke Expressions set and some By the Lake Sparkle N’ Sprinkle embossing powder to emboss the sentiment onto the cut pieces.  Adhered those pieces and I was done and out the door.  I was even early to work.  😉

Thanks for spending some of your precious time with me today!

Sketch Challenge

I’ve been enjoying doing the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge, every so often.  I’d love to do it more, just don’t have enough time.

Had a few ideas for last week’s, but only had enough time to do 2.  I’m posting one here and I’ll post another in another post.  A friend and I placed an order from MFT a couple of weeks ago and she ordered the Beautiful Bloom Card Kit.  As the order was delivered to me, she let me pull it out and play.  Love this one!

9-11-18 MFT SSS Sketch

Used an alcohol ink piece I made a few weeks ago and just had some fun.  The “beautiful” piece made with the die has Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen used on it, so it does sparkle, though you can’t see that in the picture.

I’m also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge Stamp On It, as I did stamp on it.

Thanks for spending some time with me today.

Fun Fold

One of the challenges on We Craft Cards this week was this fun two way fold.  Now, I have a difficult time using a flat back for a base, so I usually put whatever it is on a card base.  Yes, you can laugh.  It gives me more room to write!

I used the two-way fold in the sketch challenge for MFT Card Challenges this week, too.

Here’s what I came up with:

8-17-18 WCC MFT Fold Outside

8-17-18 WCC MFT Fold Flip

8-17-18 WCC MFT Fold In

I used Neenah Solar White 110lb card for all of the white pieces.  The green card and ink is called Green-Eyed Monster and is from MFT Stamps.  I also used MFT Wild Cherry ink for the red sentiments.  The coloring was done with various PrismaColor pencils.  I added a bit of sparkle to the wings using a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen.  The gold embossing powder was from Ranger.  I also used Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls spray on the front of the green flap.  The clouds were cut using an MFT die.  The stamp set is from MFT by Birdie Brown and is called Magical Dragons.

Lots of parts, but fairly simple to do.  I like how it turned out and hope you enjoy it, as well.

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Leftovers

Okay, food leftovers you have for lunch, the next day, usually.  But, what do you do with card leftovers?  Well, I used the leftovers from my MFT Card Sketch entry to make a reverse entry for it.

7-8-18 MFT Sketch 2

I used the MFT Stamps Beast Friends set.  I used a Sakura Stardust pen to go over the “Rare” and add a bit of sparkle to it.  Now, you can’t tell it didn’t stamp completely, too.  So that was an easy way to add some interest and fix a goof.  I used my lightest gray Spectrum Noir marker to add a bit of shadowing to my black and white image, then sprayed it with Imagine Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray in Sparkle to make it look “snowy”.  As it’s had looks like it is supposed to be holding something and not waving, like I had thought, I found a fun Queen & Co jewel that went with my colors and put that in the hand.

This was a fun way to use that leftover piece from the original sketch challenge and do the sketch in reverse.

Thanks for spending some more time with me today!  Have a great rest of your evening and a wonderful start to your week.

Sketch Challenge

I did this card for this week’s MFT Sketch Challenge.  I had a few ideas, but went with this one.

7-8-18 MFT Sketch 1

Made my own layered background and used some different colors for an alligator.  Definitely had fun with it.

I used different Distress Oxide Inks, the MFT Stamps set Aussie Animals, and the Altenew Layered Dahlia Stencil A.  The alligator is popped up with some pop dots.  I also sprayed the background piece with Imagine Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray in Sparkle.

Thanks for spending some time with me.

Summer Fun

Having some fun with summery images.

7-3-18 MFT Color 95

Summer colors, too.

7-3-18 MFTWSC391

I used colors from the current MFT Color Challenge and the MFT Sketch Challenge.  Using this for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, too.

MFT Polynesian Paradise is the stamp set I used for both of these.

Had a lot of fun with these.  It took a while to figure out the “sketch” part of it, but used my main piece to put the pieces in place on the other card.

Thanks for spending some time with me today.  I hope you got a smile out of these.

Dragon Sketch

My Favorite Things is an amazing small company that sells stamps, dies, paper, ink, embellishments, etc.  They have a card challenge site where they post different challenges.  Once a week, on Wednesdays, they post a sketch challenge.  The sketch for this week was interesting, so I made a card to go with it.

On Monday and Tuesday of this week they had a sale on their clear stamps, as well.  I saw it on Monday and asked my daughter if there was anything she wanted, so we put in an order together.  We didn’t have quite enough for free shipping, so I added some paper and ink in what looked to be a fun color: Green-Eyed Monster.  It isn’t quite the color I thought it would be, but it is a fun one, so, as the order arrived, yesterday, I used that, too.

5-5-18 MFT Sketch

For this I used the Green-Eyed Monster card and ink (to stamp the dragon), their Magical Dragons set and some patterned paper from a value paper set from Me & My Big Ideas called Alison.  I’ve had the paper for many years, so not sure if it is still available.  Also used some PrismaColor pencils in Lemon Yellow, Apple Green, Dark Green, and Crimson Lake.  Used a Sakura Stardust pen in gold, a clear Sparkle Noir pen, adhesive, foam pop dots, and white layering weight paper.

Whew!

Made a very different sympathy card for a funeral this morning, as well.  I’m just posting the card, not all the supplies I used.
