I have been planning and trying to do Easter cards. They are not going well.
This one was an attempt to follow the current MFT Color Challenge, as well as make an Easter card, which works for the Mod Squad spring challenge.
Cut a sunburst stencil using my Silhouette and attempted to blend the light yellow, with the bright pink, like a sunrise. I’m not too happy with the way it turned out. Oh well.
I stamped the lamb first, then cut a sticky note for my hill, a mask for the lamb, as well as some clouds. Laid my stencil over the top and started inking from the center with the yellow, then the pink. Took the stencil off and did my best to use the blue in between, on all the white areas. After inking, I pulled off all the masks, then inked my hill. I wasn’t happy with it, so added some marks with my alcohol markers. It wasn’t great, so added a bit more of the green with a sponge just lightly dabbing. It’s better than it was. Added a bit of very light brownish gray to my lamb and layered the whole panel on a bright pink base.
Not perfect, but you get the idea. Jesus, the sacrificial lamb for my sins. So very glad He gave me the opportunity to know Him.
Thank you for spending some of your valuable time with me today!
WeCraftCards.com is having a seasonal challenge this week. I decided to go with Spring, as I also wanted to do the MFT Color Challenge with this card. Here’s what I made?
I used the Beautiful Bloom flower stamp, as well as a stencil from Hero Arts and an embossing folder from Spellbinders. Used alcohol markers to color the flowers. The smaller flowers are from a Birdie Brown set that has been discontinued. It’s sad that they discontinue these adorable sets so quickly, but I’m glad I’ve got many of them, as I can continue to use them. Used the Lawn Fawn Magic Picture Changer for this one, to add some fun. Now, I will say, the inside doesn’t slide right until I cut it down a bit. Not sure if I fold on their score lines wrong, or what, but that’s what I have to do. Then again, maybe if I use a lighter weight card stock it would work better. I’ll have to try that.
Used the Picture Perfect set for this cute behind the window image.
Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today.
I did one card for both the current MFT Sketch challenge and the MFT Color challenge. Definitely had fun with this one.
This uses the BB Magical Friends set. Such a fun set!
You can’t see it, but there is sparkle on the wings of the dragon, as well as the tips of its horns and a bit in the girl’s hair.
Thanks for taking some of your valuable time to check out what I’m up to.
My Favorite Things has had a fun color combination for the past couple of weeks.
I came up with lots of ideas for it, but have been too busy to make much, so didn’t get to any of them, until today. Here’s what I came up with:
Embossed the MFT Mandala background stamp, which appears to have been retired, with clear ink on a light yellow card. Inked the bright green ink on top, which really looks dark and blue in the picture, but isn’t. Used some of the Coral Crush card for backgrounds with the Razzle Berry stamping on top. Granted, the “beautiful” die was a really close pink glitter paper. Used the Beautiful stamp set and die for the sentiment, which also appear to have been retired. Retired, or not, these are great sets.
Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today.
Here’s another card I made using the MFT Sketch Challenge and Color Challenge. For this one, I used my wreath builder to make the Happy Birthday sentiments circle around, but still be in a rectangle. My circle is a bit smaller on this one and it has a bit of elephant hanging out the sides, but is still a circle. Had fun with this one.
Used a bunch of different MFT sets for it, including Adorable Elephants.
Here’s one I made for the challenge and WeCraftCards.com, which was a January challenge and gave us many options to use of “January” things.
I chose winter trees, birds eating, a cardinal, and snow.
It’s . . . different.
Thanks for checking out what I’ve been working on. Hopefully I’ll have more time to work on more cards, soon.
I had some fun with the new sketch challenge at My Favorite Things, as well as their color challenge. Here’s the first card I made.
I masked off a section, then stamped Happy Birthday from different sets with the 4 colors. Then I stamped and colored the puppies with the same colors. I used colored pencils, so used a bit of all the colors in each of the dogs.
Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Did another take on both the MFT Sketch Challenge and MFT Color Challenge for the week.
The best part is inside:
The inside lines up with the outside, just has a tiny bit more to it. Definitely had fun with this one. The little bird and it’s hat came from the BB Happy Hippos set. The Bears, presents, balloons, etc. come from either the BB Beary Special Birthday, or the retired Birthday Bears set.
Stuck with the color challenge colors, except for adding a bit of brown to the bears on the inside.
This was fun. There isn’t much room to write, but it was fun, anyway.
Thanks for spending some time with me today.
Went over to my amazing friend’s house, yesterday afternoon and we spent a few hours creating, together. That was a lot of fun. Here is what I made, while there.
This was my idea, well about the 4th or fifth idea, but the one I went with, for the MFT Sketch challenge this week.
The challenge on WeCraftCards this week was to make a card with fall colors, it had to have either the word “fall”, or “autumn” on it, as well as a matching envelope. The bonus part of the challenge was to include 2 or more “flips” or pockets. So, I made a flip pocket that would fit a gift card, though I made the cranberry card to go inside it, as well as a pocket on the left side, with a pull out tag. A lot of work, but it turned out better than I thought it might.
This next one is for the current color challenge on MFT, and I got the pieces cut while at my friend’s, but didn’t get it put together until today.
Okay, I’m not thrilled with the look of the dragon, but I started with a good idea. I really, really, really, need to practice coloring with markers. There is some glitter on the horns, back spines/plates, and wings. And, the markers really matched the colors. Oh well, someone will get this freckled dragon card.
Thanks for spending some time with me today! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I promise, this is the last one for those same 2 challenges. MFT Color Challenge and Background Bonanza. This wasn’t even close to all the ideas that popped into my head, but I definitely wanted to try these 3.
For this one, I used the same MFT Magical Mandala Background and Seasonal Sentiments stamp sets. This time I used ink cubes to ink the stamp itself, then stamp it.
I did spray the background with Sheer Shimmer spray and added a few sequins in purple and pink. The sentiment tag is popped up with foam tape and the edge of it sparkles, as well. Had to make the card go with the sentiment.
Thanks for spending some more of your valuable time with me today!
I went with the MFT Color Challenge for this week again, as well as the Background Bonanza. They are great colors and I came up with a lot of background ideas.
So this time, I used white embossing powder (would have used clear on my white watercolor paper, but it had gotten a smear of ink from the alcohol ink background on it) and embossed the MFT Magical Mandala background stamp. Then had some fun with a couple of watercolors (Peony and Violet) that went wonderfully with the color challenge colors. The sentiment is from the MFT Seasonal Sentiments set and was embossed in white on gray card, then popped up. I did cut out the mandala piece before embossing the sentiment. There’s a bit of gray with silver ribbon on there to add a bit of fun and sparkle to this Christmas card.
This was fun. Mess, but fun to make.
