Color Challenge

My Favorite Things’ current color challenge is:

A bit different, but I had an idea.  It didn’t work as planned.  Here’s what I created:

5-5-19 MFT Color

It’s about a 4×4 square card that was supposed to be for Mother’s Day.  The pink really is cotton candy pink.  There are a blue and green that are pretty close to Blu Raspberry and Limelight on the inked panel.  The orange I used isn’t what was intended, but is similar to the Coral Crush.

I’ll wind up giving this to someone, but it won’t be either my Mother-in-Law, or my mother.  It will probably get a bit of a fix before being given to anyone.

Now, what to do for the moms?

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me!

Quick

Sometimes, you need just the right card and you need it quickly.  That is a great time to use some of those left over pieces from a previous project and a sketch.  I used this past week’s MFT Sketch Challenge for this one, and some cute sheep I had from an earlier project where I cut out WAY too many sheep.  Good thing I saved them!

11-13-18 MFT Sketch

The person this card is for likes purple, so added some touches of purple to the sheep, gave them some sparkly purple hooves (who says sheep don’t do their “nails”), some washi tape that went with my lavender card, stamped a sentiment (added more sparkle) and it’s good to go.  Well, except for writing in it.

Sheep Set 1

My mother asked for a set of sheep cards for Mothers Day.  We had to celebrate Mothers Day early, as my folks are going out of town, as is my Mother-in-Law.  Hadn’t had time to make the cards for her present, though I did post the Mothers Day cards I made for them, last week.  Anyway, figured I would do 3 different kinds, with 4 of each kind.  This is the first set.

5-7-18 SSS Sheep Set 1

Had fun making these, so I’m entering them in a Simon Says Stamp weekly challenge, as well.

Supplies:

  • Gina K Jellybean Green card for the bases and Layering Weight White for the squares
  • Gina K Wreath Builder Set – 4″
  • MFT Ewe Are the Best stamp set
  • We-R-Memory-Keepers Crop-A-Die Corner Chomper – Deco
  • PrismaColor pencils: 939 Peach, 912 Apple Green, 904 Light Cerulean Blue
  • Washi tape

Stamped the sheep every other turn, then added the flowers between the sheep.  Thought fun corners would be good, so did those, then figured it was just missing something.  Found this fun washi tape in my collection, which had all the colors I used and so many more, so put that on.

And now, I have the first 4 cards done.  To get 2 more sets done by Wednesday is going to be a challenge, but I’m going to give it a good try.  If not, she’ll get them after they get back.  There’s only so much I can do.

Thanks for spending some time with me today.  I realize I’m posting a lot more than I have in a very long time, but having fun sharing what I’m doing.  If there is anything in particular you would like to see, please let me know.  Now, go enjoy your time.
