Again for Erika

So, here are the MFT Summer School challenges, that I did again, with Erika and my challenge in mind.

Day 1: Triangles

8-7-20 WCC MFT Triangles

Spent more time trying to rehydrate my Nuvo Embellishment Mousse, than anything else.  Distilled water works, as long as it hasn’t completely dried out.  A lot of work, though.

Day 2: Rainbow

8-7-20 MFT Rainbow

I used some MFT rainbow paper, as well as their rainbow set and die.  Yes, the actual rainbow is out of order, but I still like it.  Definitely had fun and got very inky with this one.

Day 3: Symmetry

8-7-20 MFT Symmetry

Yes, I have 2 of these.

Day 4: Ombre’

8-8-20 MFT Ombre

I embossed everything on the vellum with purple embossing powder, then went back and embossed just the unicorn with a glitter embossing powder that had purples, blues, greens, etc. in it.  Added a bit of glitter here and there on the unicorn, as well.

Day 5: White Space = Black Space

8-8-20 MFT Black space

Opal blaze through a stencil uses a LOT of the blaze.  It’s much prettier in real life.  I also used a triangle and ombre’ on this, as well.

Thanks for taking some of your valuable time and spending it with me today.

Fish Space

Sorry, couldn’t help myself.  I did two cards, one was a fish card and the other a white space card.  Tried some new things.

The fish card I was using 3 colors from a tri-color challenge on WeCraftCards.com.  My colors were purple, blue, and orange.  I was also using a stencil for pressure embossing, as well as a different stencil for heat embossing.

The fish card the only white in it was the cardstock I stamped on.  You can see tiny bits of it, but everything else is blue, orange, or purple.  I stamped the sentiment in purple, and the outer, detail layer of the fish is with a really dark purple.

8-6-20 WCC HA

The background stencil is a leaf esque one from Hero Arts.  I thought it would work for water, as it reminds me a bit of different currents.  The one I used at the bottom for rocks was a Ranger one.  I pressed my Versa Mark pad through it, then shook on the glitter embossing powder.  Thought it would look a bit more like rocks, but it wasn’t as “gray” as I thought.  Oh well.  I had fun with this one.  My son suggested making the fish glossy, but as I wanted to use Glossy Accents for the “bubbles”, I chose to use some orange and purple Sakura Stardust pens to add a bit of glimmer.  I’m entering this in the A Blog Named Hero challenge.

This next one is for the MFT Summer School Day 5 Challenge of using white space.  I don’t tend to leave tons of white space, so had to think on this one for a bit.  A friend of mine has sent me some amazing cards where there is a frame, with only the inside of the frame decorated, so I went with that idea.

This one is also for my Erika take on the Summer School challenges.  I used 3 different MFT stencils in that tiny little scene.  I also added bling, which is also something I don’t do too often.  I just forget about it.  So, I went for it on this, to stretch myself.

8-6-20 MFT White Space

It isn’t the greatest picture, as the white on white really looks like the same color white in real life.  Erika liked this one, so she’s getting the card.  She liked that I embossed the frame.

If all goes well, I’ll get some more cards done this weekend.  First, however, I need to try and catch up on my crochet-a-long.  I’m more than a week behind at this point.  Oops!  Work has been crazy lately.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today!  Have a wonderful weekend.

Ombre with Erika

So, my friend Erika and I decided to stretch ourselves as we go through the MFT Summer School challenges by using stencils and doing things differently than our normal.  This is what I did for Ombre’ Day using our extra requirements.

8-4-20 MFT Ombre WE

What I used my MFT Framework Stencil for was embossing.  Yes, you can do that.  Used pressure embossing for that.  Then, decided to trace some of the background with Ranger’s Emboss It pen (clear) and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  It certainly brightened up those sections.  So, used a stencil 2 ways, then did my sentiment only “prettying up” the top two corners.  Definitely not my style, either.

As I used embossing, I’m also sharing this one with the Always Fun Challenge of embossing powders.  Another friend, Lisa, shared their challenge site.  It’s so nice to have friends that make you grow.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today!  Your time is valuable and I do appreciate you spending some with me.  Have a wonderful day!

Symmetry and Ombre’

I’m too busy to keep up with the daily challenges, but try to get a bit done here and there.  So, Day 3 at MFT Summer School was Symmetry.  People usually look at the card as if it is divided in half either vertically, or horizontally.  I went with diagonally.

8-4-20 MFT Symmetry

A friend and I decided that we were going to go through the MFT Summer School classes and stretch ourselves with a couple of our own requirements.  I didn’t use those on this, but I did add a shadow to my flowers, which I almost always forget to do, so I did stretch a bit.

On the above card, I used the MFT Beautiful Bloom stamp and the Beautiful set and die.

Day 4 was Ombre’ day.  I had so much fun with this one!

8-4-20 MFT Ombre

How many shades of gray are there?  WAY too many, but I used several in this one.

For this card, I used the MFT Masculine Graphic T stamp set.  It is a wonderful set, but has been retired for quite a while.  I also used gravel gray, cement gray, and others.

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today!

Rainbow Shaker

I tried a rainbow in a different way and added, instead of a pot of gold, a gold shaker with a rainbow inside.  I was having fun.  The rainbow is for the MFT Summer School Day 2 challengeand the shaker is for the Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

8-2-20 MFT SS D2 DCM

It does look better in real life, but it was fun.  Even though I had all my pieces laid out and the went completely around my rectangle, when it came to gluing them in, I got off.  Oh well, it left room for my sentiment.  Just a hint: stamping before putting your shaker on top (or anything large) works much better.

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me!

ROYGBIV

For those of you that don’t know: R = Red, O = Orange, Y = Yellow, G = Green, B = Blue, I = Indigo, V = Violet, so rainbow order.  The Summer School Day 2 Challenge at MFT Stamps is to use rainbow colors.  Here’s what I came up with:

8-2-20 MFT SS D2 1

I used one of their stencils and moved it down to get the last of the colors.  They aren’t very dark, but they are all there.  Used one of their dies to finish it off.

Had fun with this one and I like the way it turned out with the colors not so bright.

Thanks for spending some time with me today!  I have another that I’ll share in a bit.

Visual Triangle

So MFT’s Summer School Day 1 is to do a Visual Triangle.  I did a very simple triangle, but I like the way it turned out.  The best part is that I put an Action Wobble under the hula dancer’s head, so her bottom half moves like crazy.  Sorry, no video, so you can see her hula.

8-2-20 MFT SS D1

I used two different MFT stamp sets for this: Polynesian Paradise and Sunshine & Friendship.  Used colored pencils and a bit of colored card stock, as well as some white embossing powder.

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today.  Have a wonderful week!
