Blossoms

The SimonSaysStampBlog Wednesday challenge this week is “Beautiful Blossoms”. Bird of Paradise aren’t what everyone thinks of with “blossoms”, but I think they are beautiful. I was able to get the Altenew Bird of Paradise set recently, so used it for this challenge.

Had a lot of fun creating this one. I was gifted some wonderful stencils from my friend Bonnie recently and used two of them on this. First I took some watercolor paper and used a few Ranger Distress Oxide inks (Kitsch Flamingo, Blueprint Sketch, Faded Jeans, and Salty Ocean) a bit of water and had some fun making the background. Used Nuvo Embellisment mousse (Cornflower Blue and Spring Green) through the first stencil Bonnie made for me using her Silhouette. Then I used some Art Extravagance Phoenix Effect Paste through a different stencil she made. I only went through parts of the stencils, as I just wanted some texture and shine here and there. Besides, I liked the background. The sentiment was from the Altenew Perennial Beauty set. Used some adhesive tape to attach the panel to my card base and some Ranger Multi Medium Matte glue to adhere the flowers. As they were going on top of textured areas, wanted to make sure they were securely attached. Used a lot of different colors of inks on the flowers and the sentiment. I will tell you, there are NINE layers to the Bird of Paradise flowers that I stamped. That was a LOT of work. I do, however, like how they turned out.

Thank you for spending some of your time with me today!

Textures

I do love adding texture to cards. So, the Simon Says Stamp Blog Monday challenge of texture was no problem. The WeCraftCards.com challenge of something regarding live, laugh, and love was more difficult, as God is the answer to all of that.

Here is what I came up with:

Loads of texture in this as I used Gesso, as well as embossing paste that I colored yellow, glitter, heat embossing, watercolors, and layers.

Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me!

Textured Baby Card

One of the guys at work is expecting his first baby tomorrow.  Had to make a fun card for that.

3-25-14 Textured Baby

This is for the MFP SpeedyTV Tutorial Time challenge last weekend.  I used the Silhouette Cameo to cut out the background from a light weight white card stock, then used some embossing paste on the blue card base.  The sentiment is from the MFP Fabulous Dogs 2012 set, that I went over with a clear Stardust pen (Sakura) and the exclamation point I used a Souffle pen (Sakura).  The koala is called “Cute Koala” and is a Silhouette design that I cut out.  The body is from a lighter blue that I embossed.  Just a hint, but cutting out the body would have worked better had I embossed it AFTER I cut it out.  Had so much fun putting the little guy together.  Used some Fun Fur (Lion Brands) to add a bit more texture to the side.  The label with the sentiment is from the Fancy Tags set (Spellbinders).

A lot to this, but so fun to make.  Now to write in it and get it delivered.

Thanks for spending some time with me today!
