Simon Says Stamp Blog challenge for Monday is to use resist. Their Wednesday challenge is to do a slimline card.
The WeCraftCards.com challenge this week is to use a pun. I had started this and came up with 4 images from My Favorite Things and their punny sentiments. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
Here are the first 2 that I did. All 4 cards are slimline style and have a pun, only 2 were resist.

This one is just using different patterned papers for the background. The papers look like their actual colors, but for some reason, the heart looks really dark. In real life it is a bright red color with some shading. The sheep is a lot more white, too. Pictures can be very weird.

For this one, I used a piece of card that had foiling on it and used that to resist the inking I did. There are actually 5 colors of Distress ink blended in that background. It was a bit difficult to get some shading to ground my llama, but used a dark gray alcohol marker for that. I also used a My Favorite Things Die-namic to cut the sentiment strip. Colored the images with Prismacolor Pencils.
Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me. I’m hoping you saved a bit more for part 2 with the other 2 cards.
So glad they incented you to not resist. Very fun cards. Grounding your llama was well worth the effort.

Two cute cards! Love your punny greetings. Nice use of patterned paper to create your ground and sky on your first card, and very cool inked and foiled background on the second.

Thanks Lisa. I wasn’t sure how the inking would work as the foiled piece was kraft, but it was fun to do.

Both are great. The foil that you inked worked very well and gave you an unusual background. Love the puns!

Fa la la la la la la la llama….sorry my granddaughter and I laugh and sing that everytime we use a llama on the card. I am loving your funky one, too. So much character.
