Yesterday I made a clean and simple (CAS) card all out of grays featuring a sentiment. I took 1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11″ light gray paper, cut it in half at 5 1/2″, folded that in half for my A2 card base. I then cut off a 3 3/4″ piece of the other part of the light gray sheet and cut the other direction at 5″ to make it 3-3/4 x 5″. I also cut a piece of slate gray card 5-1/4 x 4″. I knew what sentiment I wanted to use, so I determined it should be a wide card rather than a tall one. I then used an edger to get a fun top and bottom edge on the small piece of light gray paper. I used a dark gray ink to stamp the sentiment, but it has very fine lines and didn’t show up as well as I liked, so I traced over it with a gray Sakura Glaze pen. Unfortunately, the further I went, the more freely the ink flowed, so it got a bit thick towards the end. Anyway, I just wanted you to see how CAS can also be elegant. This also works for a masculine card. It is being entered in the MFP SpeedyTV Friends of SpeedyTV challenge for this week.
It looks like there is a smudge on the card, but there really isn’t. I’m thinking I’ll need to clean my camera lens. The sentiment says, “Without faith a man can do nothing; with it all things are possible. ~Sir William Osler.”
Thanks for spending some time with me today!
