When I was checking my email today, I saw that the new A Blog Named Hero challenge was anything goes. Also saw a couple of videos on different ways of doing shaker cards (I’ve tried more than those). And, a friend recommended the Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge as a great place for challenges. Their challenge, which ends today is to use hearts in some way. So . . . I had some fun.

Had some fun, as well as some frustration. I LOVE the color layering stamp sets from Hero Arts. However, they have these tiny little stamps for details that are next to impossible to line up properly because they are so stinkin’ small. The beak and eye detail stamp kept moving on me and never did quite line up properly.
I used their Color Layering Peacock, as well as their Color Layering Koi sets. The sentiment is from the Koi set. I also used some Distress inks to blend the background and do the peacock. The shaker uses a shimmer sheet and lots of shaker elements from who knows where. There are several heart pieces in the shaker elements. You can actually see some of the orange ones in this picture.
Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today. Have a wonderful week.

This is a great shaker card and love the layering and colors you used for your peacock. It’s beak looks like it’s in the right place to me. I’d be taking my glasses on and off to figure that alignment up properly. Lovely card.

Thanks Gayle. I went in with a pen, afterwards and tried to “fix” it. It’s mostly that the tiny little stamp is really difficult to get to stay in the same spot for the platform to pick it up, or it just moves a little on the platform as it’s so small it doesn’t have much surface area to hold it in place. Who knows, it’s just irritating.

Thanks Judy! I really like the peacock, but tend not to use it as getting all the layers lined up takes forever. As I had it together, made 4, yesterday. Made 2 of these shaker cards and tucked 2 in with the stamp set for whenever I need one.

You do such good work, especially on shaker style. Your sentiments really fits the bg and that is so good for the focal.

Super card! So glad this new found challenge worked for you. I see the hearts. Love the peacock. I find some of the layering stamps to be difficult to get the small items in place, like the ones you mentioned. You did well and it looks great.

Fabulous shaker – I’m not good at them so always admire someone who can make them. Love the colours and that peacock is wonderful. Chuckled at your frustration with the tiny stamps. I totally get that and I’m not a good stamper at the best of times so most likely mine would be even worse than you think yours is.
